Dear Friends and Partners,

January has been a time of restoration after a very busy end of 2011.  There are times that we almost forget how good it is to spend time at home.  The last several weeks have been refreshing and yet busy at the same time.  The scriptures remind us of the times of refreshing that come only from the presence of the Lord. (Acts 3:19b)

We are actually writing this letter while flying to Quebec, Canada where we will spend the next ten days ministering to several churches.  It is the heart of winter in Canada right now but we are seeing a “full blown heat wave” of the moving of the Spirit of God.  Churches are growing and lives are being changed.  We are reminded of the words of Jesus when He told his disciples and us, “…the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10 NKJV). God has blessed us with the opportunity to be a part of what He is doing in the world today and all we can say is, “Glory to God.”

God has been speaking to us in a very strong manner that this is the time to build the Kingdom of God, not the kingdoms of men, or, as the scriptures say, “…the kingdoms of this world.” In fact we believe that we are seeing the fulfillment of Revelation 11:15 (NKJV) “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever.” There is a line of demarcation being drawn here upon the earth and we are observing people making choices that will affect eternity.  As you know, our ministry is not technically an evangelistic ministry, in the sense of conducting large evangelistic crusades, but we are consistently seeing hundreds and thousands of people come to Jesus as the result of teaching and preaching the Word of God.

One of the reasons we continually write this letter each month is that we want you to know that God is moving in the nations, and the negative reports that we see and hear from the news media and others fail to paint the true picture of what God is doing in the nations.  There are some nations in which there is such a move of the Spirit of God that we wonder if there will be anyone left unconverted.

Over these next several weeks we plan to be in both Canada and the United States.  We ask that you keep us in the midst of your prayers as well as in the midst of your hearts.  As we continue traveling to the nations, we are constantly facing new challenges and we know that the only way we can meet those challenges is through our faith in God and the prayers of intercessors like many of you.  We also ask that you continue to stand in faith with us for the provision necessary to complete the task that God has placed before us.

As we bring this letter to a close, we want you to know that all of you are in our hearts and that we pray for your success and blessing.  We know that there are times in which it would be easy to be anxious concerning the future; however, the words of Paul were given to steady our hearts, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; (7) and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV).

Dear Friends and Partners,

Writing this letter is both a sweet and bitter task.  The past month has been a time of emotional highs and lows.

It is necessary to mention the time of an emotional low at the beginning of this letter.  While we were in France we received news that our friend and apostolic overseer, Chuck Clayton, died.  Many years ago we entered into relationship with Chuck and his wife Karen as members of the Apostolic Resource Ministries.  Even in the sadness of his death, we discovered again the truth expressed by the apostle Paul, “Death is swallowed up in victory…thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abound in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” – (1 Corinthians 15:54,57&58 NKJV).

Now, speaking of emotional highs, we have the privilege of saying, “God is moving powerfully in the United Kingdom and France.”  Our experience began with two wonderful churches in the London metropolitan area:  New Life Christian Centre (Cryodon) and Breakthru Church (Brentwood).  The ministry in France began with a gathering in Annecy with both old and new friends.  We then traveled on to Le Semeur (Colmar) and Nouvelle Alliance (Belfort).  (The pastors of Nouvelle Alliance, Claude and Monique Remond, are the translators of our French letter.)  After Belfort we spoke at Eglise Protestante Evangelique (Gray) and then on to Maison de la Grace (Macon).  Maison de la Grace is a church with which we have apostolic relationship.  From there we went on to Centre Chretien De L’Estaque (Marseille) and ended in a “house church” in (Bagnols-sur-Ceze).

Upon returning to the U.S. we received an e-mail from a family who attended the final meetings in France and we would like to share it with you.  (They wrote in both French and English.)

Hi Sherry and Eugène,

It was a great pleasure meeting you at the home of Etienne and Noelle!  We were
blessed during the weekend.  It was a time of refreshing for us.  Thank you for
your messages, your prayers, your joy, your faith, your kindness and (Eugene)
your songs.  We wanted to tell you what our 7 year old son, Noah, experienced
during your visit.  He was very touched when you (Eugène) sang and played the
guitar.  On Monday evening, he wanted to give his life to Jesus and receive the
Holy Spirit.  We prayed together and afterward he started singing your songs by
listening to your recordings and then drawing some very interesting drawings. 
With this testimony, we want to encourage you in your ministry.  And the word
that Sherry shared Saturday night about the stars, it’s for you.  You have many
spiritual children in this world that you cannot count (as the stars) because
your heart is really God’s heart, which you share. We hope to see you again in
the house of Etienne and Noelle next year!

You will notice from our schedule that we will begin 2012 with some additional time at home and then to Quebec, Canada.  We ask that you continue to pray for us as we fulfill the plans that God has for the New Year.

Dear Friends and Partners,

Our schedule over the next month and a half is such that we felt it necessary to allow this letter to cover both November and December.  November is the time of Thanksgiving in the U.S.A. and we rejoice and give thanks for what God has done in these past months. As we approach the end of 2011, we want to report that, even with the sudden changes of schedule and heart rending events this year, we have witnessed over three thousand people make decisions to receive our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We are writing this letter from Canada, where we are in the midst of a tremendous time of ministry.  God is moving as He promised and lives are being touched and changed.  We are often reminded of the marching orders Jesus gave to His disciples when he said, “…as you go, preach, saying, ‘the kingdom of heaven is at hand.  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons.  Freely you have received, freely give’” (Matthew 10:7&8 NKJV). It is our intent to do exactly as Jesus commanded until that day that we stand before Him in eternity.

As you can see from our agenda, we will be flying to England and France on the 10^th of November and returning on the 7^th of December.  We are expecting God to move in many ways.  We want the people to be touched spiritually and we also expect a time of refreshing for ourselves.  Several days of inactivity have been built into the schedule so that we may rest and visit with friends.

December is the time of the year when we celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and we are reminded of the Word of God, which says:

For unto us a Child is born,

Unto us a Son is given;

And the government will be upon His shoulder.

And His name will be called

Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of His government and peace

There will be no end.

Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,

To order it and establish it with judgment and justice

From that time forward, even forever.

The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

We rejoice that He came, as prophesied, and that He is in control among us.  It is with this knowledge that we say to you, have a blessed Christmas and a glorious New Year.  Remember, it is the Son of God for whom we celebrate.

Dear Friends and Partners,

As I sat down to write this letter, the Lord begin to remind me of Zephaniah 3:17 (NKJV),

“The LORD your God in your midst,

The Mighty One, will save;

He will rejoice over you with gladness,

He will quiet you with His love,

He will rejoice over you with singing.”

The Lord reminded me of His care and love for all of us who belong to Him.  I could see Him hovering over us and causing us to be still in the midst of whatever we might be experiencing, whether good or evil.  It was almost as if I could hear Him singing songs of rejoicing over us for the victories He has given.  More and more, I am experiencing the reality that God is fighting for us, His Church.

Tuesday morning I was awakened with these words from an old hymn that I once sung in my youth:

Why should I fear when the Lord is on my side?

Why should I fear when in His love I hide?

He is to me, my Shelter and my Guide.

Tell me, why should I fear?

It was literally as if God was doing to me what I mentioned above, rejoicing over me and promising a continual victory as I face the future.  So many people, at home in the United States, Canada, and here in Colombia, have been speaking to me about the uncertainties that they are feeling and facing in their lives.  If you are among them, be encouraged.  Our futures are not based upon the economic success of any of our respective nations or people.  Our futures are in the hands of the Almighty God with whom it is impossible to lie or to fail.  He has promised protection, provision and blessing and His promises are sure.

Looking toward the future, Sherry and I are planning to be with New Beginning Miracle Fellowship in Morrisville, Vermont for the annual “One Day Conference,” which is on the 10^th of October this year.  There is still time for you to plan to be with us.  Please call the church and make reservations: 802-888-4730.  After the conference, we will spend the next two weeks traveling and ministering in Canada (see the schedule on the reverse side of this letter).  Our November schedule is to be in England and France.

This week concludes almost three weeks of travel and ministry here in the nation of Colombia.  One of the highlights of this trip was ministering to the students at Christ For The Nations Institute in Medellin.  It is Christ For The Nations only complete campus outside of the United States and is raising up a generation of young men and women that will be sent into the nations to do the work of ministry.  I have also had the opportunity to be in a number of individual churches both in Medellin and Cali.  The final ministry schedule this week will be with the largest Presbyterian congregation in the city.  It still amazes me how God has opened so many doors to us.

As I close this letter, I want to express how much you are loved and cared for.  Most all of you are people that we have met and ministered to in many nations and Sherry and I treasure the relationships that have been built.  We appreciate your love and support.

Dear Friends and Partners,

The month of August was to be primarily a month of vacation for us.  However, the month has been filled with surprising events that totally changed our course.  The first was the sudden death of one of our spiritual sons, Steve Stephens, pastor of Word of Life Church, Rock Island, Illinois.  The second was the death of one of Sherry’s younger brothers, Charles Stone.  Both of these deaths happened in successive weeks and, to say the least, we have been busy traveling the nation attending to these matters.  The one thing that has kept our hearts lifted during this time has been the words of Paul, “…thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57 NKJV).

Steve and his wife, Rachel, have been a part of our spiritual family for many years and that relationship has been one of great importance to us.  We first ministered with them nearly thirty years ago when they were establishing the church and we have built a very strong relationship over the years.

Sherry’s brother, Charles, was also very special to us and was a strong Christian and very open about his faith.  His death was not totally unexpected, due to ill health, but he will be greatly missed.  The most important thing that we can say about him is that we know that he is with the Lord and we will be with him in eternity.

As we look toward the month of September, Eugene plans to return to Colombia for several series’ of meetings.  Colombia is a very fertile field for the work of the Lord and it has been our pleasure for many years to plant the seed of the Word of God in that nation.

Dear Friends and Partners,

We have seen the Lord move so graciously in these past few weeks.  As we write, we are in Canada (Quebec) where the reception of our ministry has been so good.  The opportunity to be in new churches and meet new pastors and leaders has been a great blessing to us.  We know that the success of journeys like this is the result of people like you standing in faith with us.

This letter is for both July and August.  Due to our schedule for July, Eugene will be outside of the country until the 5^th of August and we felt we should let this letter speak for both months.  We will be taking a vacation the last three weeks of August to get some needed rest and family time.

We mentioned a few months ago our renewed study of the Holy Spirit.  When we look back at the time of John the Baptist, we see that the people were expecting the Messiah to come and went to John to inquire if he was the Christ:  “Now as the people were in EXPECTATION, and all reasoned in their hearts about John, whether he was the Christ or not…” (Luke 3:15 NKJV). Let us ask this question of ourselves in this age, are we expecting something from God?  Are we expecting a move or manifestation of the Holy Spirit?

When Jesus was confronted by people desiring healing or miracles He often asked, “What do you want?” We believe that God is asking the same question today, “What do you want.” Many of us have become dissatisfied with things as they are as well as our experiences with God.  Our hearts are hungry for “more.” There is “more” to be had as we approach Him with the hunger and thirst of our hearts.  We remember the promise of God, which says, “Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4 NKJV).

It is our intention with this letter to challenge you (as well as ourselves) to step out in faith again and tell God your desires.  He made a covenant with us through the precious blood of Jesus His Son and He declared that He would not break that covenant (Psalm 89:34).  Our covenant is one of salvation, peace, joy and provision in which every need is supplied.

We trust that God is blessing you and that your summer will be a time of refreshing.  God has truly promised “…times of refreshing (coming) …from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19 NKJV). Our request of you is that you pray for us that the boldness of the Lord and His strength will remain in us as we make plans for the second half of this year.

Dear Friends and Partners,

We greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and we trust that all is well with you and that you are being blessed abundantly.

As we prepared to write this letter, we were reminded of a particular passage of scripture that applies to all of us as children of God.  Paul, the apostle, wrote to encourage the Corinthian church by reminding them of the teachings that they had received:

“But as God is faithful, our word to you is not yes and no.  For the Son of God, Christ Jesus, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silvanus and Timothy—was not yes and no, but is yes in Him.  For as many as may be the promises of God, in Him they are yes; wherefore also by Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us” (2 Corinthians 1:18-20 NASV).

Our encouragement to all of us today is that we must take the limits off God.  We know that He is unlimited, but when we have a wrong understanding of His promises, in effect we limit Him.  Most of us have been taught that God has essentially two answers when we go to Him to ask for His promises:  “Yes” and “No.”  If what Paul said is true, in reality there is only one answer that God can give when we ask for His promise and that is “Yes.”  John wrote,

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will (His Word is His will – our comment), He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1 John 5:14&15 NKJV).

We have truly watched the promises of God come to pass in our lives in these past few months to the point of almost being overwhelmed.  He restored everything that the enemy stole from our daughter when she was attacked.  His presence has been so very, very, real in the face of the trials that have come our way and we have come to a new appreciation of the promise He gave when He said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5 NKJV).

We have just concluded our first trip to Canada for 2011.  What a glorious time we had with the churches in the region of Gatineau, Quebec.  God knows how to open the heavens and pour out the blessings of the Kingdom on His children and that is exactly what we experienced in the past few weeks.  We ministered to nine churches, three of which we had never ministered to before.

In a few days we will be returning to Canada to begin an almost three week excursion across Quebec and into New Brunswick as well as crossing the U.S. border into Maine.  We will begin with the Camp de L’Arche conference in St-Elzear, Quebec and end with Chapelle Evangelique in Granby, Quebec.

Until our next opportunity to greet you, please remember that our prayer for you is that you are blessed “…exceedlingly abundantly above all that (you) ask or think, according to the power that works in (you)” (Ephesians 3:20 NKJV).

Dear Friends and Partners,

As we make plans to be in Europe for most of April and the beginning of May, we have confidence that the Lord will be with us on the journey.  David, the Psalmist, asked two very powerful questions:  “Where can I go from Your Spirit” and “…where can I flee from Your presence?” (Psalm 139:7 NKJV). He then proceeded to answer those questions by declaring that there would be no place in heaven or hell, the sea or darkness where His presence would not be with him.  In fact, he said, “Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You” (Psalm 139:12 NKJV). We share these verses with you, not only to express our belief concerning the days ahead but also, to encourage you in the fact that God’s presence is assured in the midst of any and all circumstances that you may face.

Concerning our trip to Europe, we ask that you stand in prayer with us as we first fly to London and then on to Geneva.  After renting a car we will depart for France where we will minister in several churches with whom we have established special relationships.  We will also be with at least one church that is new to us.  Following France we will fly to England where we will visit with friends and minister at Christian Life Centre in Croydon.

Last month we shared the testimony of Gabriel Lopez and his miraculous recovery from a shooting attack in Colombia.  We knew the testimony would bless you but the response we received was not expected.  Many of you wrote about your own miracles and healings that you have received as a result of our ministry.  Amazing!  One brother in Tennessee placed the newsletter with the photo on his desk where it could easily be seen.  As people inquired about the photo, he was able to share the testimony and touch their lives.

We want to take this opportunity to announce the 2^nd Annual Gathering at Camp de l’Arche, 41 Fermanagh, St-Elzear (Beauce), Quebec:  the 10^th through 12^th of June.  The subject of this gathering will be, “Life That Wins.” Our first gathering was in September 2010 with a tremendous attendance and time of blessing.  For those of you who live in the Northeastern United States and Eastern Canada, we know that this will be an opportunity to spend time together and in the presence of the Lord.  For reservations please call Camp de l’Arche at 418-596-3041 or 418-948-0721 or e-mail campdelarche@oricom.ca. God has been so good to us by placing each of you in our lives.  It is our desire that you be blessed and prosperous in the Lord.  Remember, His grace is sufficient, His love is everlasting and there is no one like Him.  The Psalmist wrote these words concerning our God, “for the LORD GOD is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11 NKJV).

Dear Friends and Partners,

We greet you in the mighty name of Jesus and trust that all is well with each of you. The writer of Hebrews reminds us of God’s promise as well as our right to make a bold declaration:  “‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’  So that we may boldly say:  “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear.  What can man do to me?’” (Hebrews 13:5&6 NKJV) We want to remind you that God will keep His promises and you can declare His help and protection over your lives.

In a recent letter, we mentioned hearing many testimonies concerning our past ministry.  In January, Eugene was in Cali, Colombia and had lunch with a pastor and some members of his congregation.  Mr. Gabriel Lopez was sitting across the table from Eugene and shared the following testimony.  Sixteen months before he was bidding on a contract in Santa Marta on the north coast of Colombia.  His competition in the bidding hired a “hit man” to eliminate the competition.  Gabriel was shot five times:  twice in the head, once in each shoulder and once in the heart.  He was taken to the hospital, not expecting to live.  When he regained consciousness, he was told that he could not survive due to the damage.  He replied, “I cannot die.  I received a word from a prophet from the United States named Eugene May who spoke about the plan of God for my life.  It has not all come to pass, therefore, I cannot die.”  The two shots in the head were enough to kill him but he refused to die.  The shot in the heart hit his pen and was deflected away from his heart.  We have included a photo of that pen in this letter.  God is truly a God of miracles.

We have discovered again, in these past few months, just how exciting life can be.  We have not only heard tremendous testimonies, we have seen thousands receiving Jesus as Savior.  God is causing a fresh outpouring of evangelism in the nations.  In the midst of great turmoil in many areas of the world, God is reaching in with His hand of salvation and blessing.

Plans are being made for our ministry in France, Switzerland and England in the month of April.  We are looking forward to returning to a number of churches that we have visited in the past.  We are simply asking you to be in prayer with us concerning the finances for the trip.  God has proven Himself faithful and we know that He will be so again.  We are reminded of the God’s promise through the prophet Jeremiah when He said, “Call to Me, and I will answer you…” (Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV)

It is our desire for each of you to be led by the Holy Spirit and that you experience the provision of God in every aspect of your lives.

21 January 2011 (Pasto, Colombia)

Dear Friends and Partners,

It is with great joy for the salvation that we all possess that I write this letter to you.  (Sherry is at home in the States so I am writing this alone.)  This morning, the very presence of God filled the room here in Pasto as I awoke in my normal way: a song of praise coursing through my mind and a verse of precious scripture filling my heart.  The song today was in Spanish, “Vive En Mi” (Live In Me) and the scripture was “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV).   I simply want to encourage you in your walk with God to allow the refreshing of the Lord to renew you day by day.

January has turned out to be an exciting month for us.  We have witnessed again the move of God in the nation of Colombia.  Jesus said when he called Simon Peter and Andrew to Himself, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19 NKJV). We have learned that if we obey God and “throw out the net,” people will respond, lives will be changed and they will be saved.  In most every service, regardless of the type of message preached, we gave and invitation for salvation and hundreds of people responded.

We are planning a lighter schedule for February as you can see from the calendar.  We will begin our ministry in Indiana with an informal gathering of friends in the Salem area and then our annual R&R (Rest & Relaxation) in Nashville with our friends and fellow ministers sponsored by Apostolic Resource Ministries.  We will then go to the Allelujah Sanctuary Church in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.  Living in Florida, our winter has been a little cool this year, but we understand that Indiana and Minnesota have experienced extreme cold.  We would like to have milder weather on these trips, but we will take it as it comes and enjoy the ministry of the Lord.

It is truly a blessing to know that you all are standing with us as we travel in the world.  Sometimes, the circumstances that we find ourselves in are less that what might be desired, but we know that we have an army of intercessors as well as friends and fellow workers in the Kingdom of God standing with us.  There have several occasions in the past few months in which God has spoken to us to stop and not go to the places we had planned.  On each occasion, intercessors called or e-mailed their concerns because had warned them on our behalf.  Our encouragement to you is to “KEEP IT UP.”  There is nothing like hearing from the Lord, even through people like you, and knowing His protection.  THANK YOU!

As I bring this letter to a close, I believe that I am writing from the hearts of both of us.  You are loved and appreciated.  Your support in both prayer and finances are great encouragements to us.  Our prayer for you is that you be “…kept…as the apple of His eye” (Deuteronomy 32:10 KJV).
